Definitely in smut novels. As I said, I prefer them educational. It is very interesting to see what is considered desirable, taboo, or ordinary according to a particular people's accepted standards regarding romantic and sexual relationships. I have yet to encounter a society where those things are not an integral piece of the cultural ethos.

I feel that the term "disastrous" is subjective. We can gain so much more from unfettering our hearts from what holds them back, both for ourselves and those around us. [ Says the woman who has incited political assassinations and wholesale destruction through that selfsame principle, but that's neither here nor there. ]

Rationality has its place, to be sure, but your self-awareness is as admirable as it is refreshing. Given the right conditions, perhaps you, too, could be freed from your constraints.
